Australia officially has record low availability for cheap rentals.
The September PropTrack Market Insights report found that across Australia, only 19% of rental properties were listed for under $400 per week. Not a single capital city had more than 25%. Economists are saying that this is because of falling vacancy rates and rising interest rates, meaning there are less rentals available at any price while prices are going up.
